I Want to be Joan screened at CITY GALLERY WELLINGTON 1993 Wellington sixteen years after it premiered in New Zealand at the Christchurch Town Hall. This was after the film toured the country by Stephanie as a private distributor , in 1978/9 Right.The image of Joan Lyes in I Want to be Joan, was chosen by Jan Beiringer. The film programme that year, in an exhibition "Alter / Image: Feminism and Representation in New Zealand Art 1973-1993" City, Galley, was substantial. Films were showed along with painting, prints, installations and sculpture. Curators. Deboragh Lawler -Dormer and Christina Barton. 1993. AND LATER AT AUCKLAND ART GALLERY 2018. My First film book cover is inside a wall vitrine about Spiral Collective publishing, publishers I had not met. Second image. Audio interviews by Lita Barrie. 1984. Womens Art Archive interview project. I fell upon this when I was a guest at the CIRCUIT and AUT Documentary group symposium. The Time of the NOW, curated by Dr Erika Belsom, Kings College, UK. I went downstairs to this during the exhibition by Ruth Buchanan, of her BAD VISUAL SYSTEMS. 2018. It becme the winner of the Walters Prize.2018*
