The Royal Yacht Gothic in 1954 for the Royal Tour to the colonies was painted all white. Then with black paint again on the hull the Yacht for Shaw Savill was repurposed to use commercially by 1955. I was taken onboard to inspect the children's playroom when the yacht was still all white when members of my family took a 'one year holiday trip' to England and Europe 1955

Waterloo Hotel. Wellington. ( Built) 1953. The first ferro concrete building in the country. The whole family slept in this hotel to farewell Pris, Irene an Julia off on their Europe trip. I was farwelling my regular friend. It was the year that Julia got knocked over by a car. She came back with a dent under her chin.

*The Napier family house was sold in 1913. Aunt Louisa Winifred forwent her chance to travel and study painting in Europe. She married Mr Miller in 1914 at age 47. The house became a hotel. It survived the Napier Earthquake. It is demolished now. Station Street Napier.
