SYNOPSISStephanie Beth planned IN JOY as an antidote after working at a refuge for women. She had wanted to understand more about the effects of violence on the human psyche so that she might suggest a creative approach to frozen states offear, physical rigidity, absence of confidence and pleasure.
She chose Eyre as a model of vitality and strength. The film follows Maggie through some of her daily activities - shopping, dancing, visiting the coast - and she speaks about her style of life. Throughout the film there is one class of women. The idea of artist as specialist is demystified and an inspiring feeling of the power of these women emerges as they share a creative adventure with exceptional spontaneity and glee.
