'When it came to wonder, a moment that imprinted into the psyche was to see Nomads. I was all a swell of emotion one day whilst travelling in that van , heading up to Europe. The camel riders approached diagonally towards us. As the caravan drew near, I was abruptly aware that our road cut in diagonal across their route. There were the sounds of sheep hooves clatter, camels breathing. The people made no eye contact with us in as close as a ten meters of gap for glancing as they swept past our stopped vehicle, not hesitating or stopping. Women and children were aboard their beasts, their bodies in wrap, eyes blue and kohl marked, the black yurts visible in folds on other animal's backs. The men walked behind with their stock, the sheep and the goats. A trail of dust surrounded them. Large hound dogs circled all. This was dignity projected by a people on an ancient route with stability in intent. Their pace of motion was their seasonal ancient motif of movement - steady. The people on a customary route, a whole trope in action that portrayed custom and intent, such unique autonomy, standing as it did, outside the modern world.' Stephanie

I find the sentence very beautiful and very moving too. It reconciles the right and the left. What do people on the right and the left think about ? What’s the point of revolutions today? As soon as a reactionary government comes to power, it applies a leftist policy and the other way around. As for me, I win or I lose, but I fight alone. Around 1930, young people had a revolution. For example, Malraux, Drieu La Rochelle, Aragon. We no longer have anything. They had the war in Spain, we don't even have a war or our own. Apart from ourselves, our own face and our own voice, we have nothing. But maybe this is what is important. To come to recognize the sound of one's own voice and the form of one's own face.
