I Want to be Joan screened at
CITY GALLERY WELLINGTON

sixteen years after it premiered in New Zealand at the Christchurch Town Hall.
This was after the film toured the country by Stephanie as a private distributor, in 1978/9
Right.The image of Joan Lyes in I Want to be Joan, was chosen by Jan Beiringer. The film programme that year, in an exhibition "Alter / Image: Feminism and Representation in New Zealand Art 1973-1993" City, Galley, was substantial.

I was a guest at the CIRCUIT and AUT Documentary group symposium. The Time of the NOW, curated
by Dr Erika Belsom, Kings College, UK.
I went downstairs to this during the exhibition by Ruth Buchanan, of her BAD VISUAL SYSTEMS. 2018.
It became
the winner of the Walters Prize.2018*
